At 10:23 p.m. Sunday Mercury will leave Pisces and enter Aries, where it will stay until April 3. Collectively, this transit ignites mental energy and benefits project initiation, forward momentum and taking action. While communication will be more direct and honest, it also could have a tendency to, at times, be insensitive or combative. This energy is best used toward pioneering ideas.

On Tuesday, a new moon will occur in Aries. While new moons already initiate the beginning of a new cycle, this new moon is happening at zero degrees Aries. Astrologically, the zero degree is a critical degree that amplifies the need to make a change, take risks, innovate and charge after authentic desires. In Aries, this eruptive energy favors setting intentions that are backed by raw authenticity.

Zero degrees Aries also coincides with the spring equinox, which occurs Monday, prompting us toward a recalibration of Self and representing the astrological new year. A new cycle through the Zodiac begins.

After spending over 14 years in the sign of Capricorn, Pluto will enter Aquarius at 6:14 a.m. Thursday morning. In Aquarius, Pluto, the planet of transformation, destiny and rebirth, pushes humanity toward individuation, progressive ideals, technological revolutions and collective unity.

Since Plutonian energy also deals with control, it’s better to try to work with its influence than against it, as its positive effects manifest by surrendering.

Due to its decadeslong stay in each sign, as it takes approximately 248 years to travel around the sun, Pluto’s effects are gradual yet extremely profound. While Pluto will only stay in Aquarius for a few months before retrograding back into Capricorn, the next few months will serve as a window into the themes that will play out over the course of 20 years after it permanently moves into Aquarius Nov. 19, 2024, and stays until March 9, 2043.

So what does all this mean for your sign? Find out below.

Control issues or power struggles with a partner are likely during this transit, and you may feel both an intense desire for and fear of deep intimacy with a lover.

Leo
July 23–August 22

This week begins with the new moon and Mercury putting a spotlight on ninth-house matters of general outlook and beliefs, dear Leo. Your mind will have a philosophical bent over the next two weeks, and you may decide to embark on a new path of study. This will be a time when your close relationships will be put to the test. You may feel attracted to someone who is controlling or possessive, or vice versa. You will have a deep desire for intense connection but also a deep fear of it and struggle as a result.

You may see relationships fall apart or deepen in commitment. But this struggle with relationships is about more than the bond with another person; it’s about who you understand yourself to be as a result and the ways bonds with others transform the self.

Virgo
Aug. 23–Sept. 22

The week begins with a new moon and your ruling planet, Mercury, activating your eighth house of intimacy and shared resources, dear Virgo. You’re diving deep into the darker aspects of your psyche and may be inclined to research or think about mysteries or taboo topics. It’s a good time to implement habits that will benefit psychological healing. You might decide to try therapy, or you’re more open to delving into the murkier side of life in search of what’s real.

This will be a time when you need to be careful not to overly strain yourself by trying to do too much, whether that is becoming overly obsessive with diet and exercise or working overtime.

When out of balance, health issues may surface and force you to restructure how you utilize time. This also is about getting to the root causes of any underlying health issues, whether dealing with mental or physical health. You may find it harder to work under someone, and some Virgos may leave their job to work for themselves. You also may find it harder not to get overwhelmed by criticism. Take care of yourself.

On Thursday, Pluto will begin a decadeslong transit through a part of the sky that will transform matters related to creativity, self-expression and children. Your interests may completely change during this time. What used to light up your heart no longer holds the same joy, which launches you onto a new path of self-discovery. Intensity and passion are favored now, and you will want to veer away from any mediocrity.

New, playful experiences inspire a burst of energy that revives you and pours into new and old forms of self-expression. Some Librans may need to overcome some fear to fully pursue a passion. Be careful not to become overly obsessive with creative projects that you pick them apart before setting them free. Your dating life may see many twists and turns, and a child may play a significant role during this time. Perhaps they are transiting from a child to an adult. You may not feel as lighthearted as usual, as you are trekking the inner quarters of your heart to find the true rhythm of its pulse.

Scorpio
Oct. 23–Nov. 21

This week begins with the new moon and Mercury lighting up sixth house matters of daily routine, health and work, dear Scorpio. Whether it’s cleaning up your diet, committing to a better sleep regimen or finding ways to cope with stress, now is the time to make that change. Your mind will be turning these matters otherwise, which could amp stress if you avoid nurturing yourself in the way you need. This also is a great time for organizing your workspace and clearing out clutter.

On Thursday, your modern ruling planet Pluto will begin its decadeslong transit through a part of the sky that will transform matters related to your inner security and domestic affairs. Your needs will evolve during this time, and you may be feeling extra protective of yourself. Any past resentments or hurts in need of resolve will surface now, pushing you to restructure your sense of stability. This transit is about finding a home within and clearing away any wreckage that for too long has been burdening your psyche.

Be careful not to hold onto anything too tightly, as it likely will be ripped from your grasp. While this placement is a bit rockier than others, it deals with the very foundation of who you are and where you come from — what roots you to Earth. But this also is teaching you about vulnerability; that true security comes not from clinging onto what seems stable, but rather, from allowing yourself to let go with the trust you’ll stay standing.

Sagittarius
Nov. 22–Dec. 21

This week begins with a new moon and Mercury illuminating fifth-house matters of creativity, pleasure and children, dear Sagittarius. It’s time to dive into that passion project. You may find it difficult to focus on anything that doesn’t truly light up your heart over the next two weeks. Is it fun? If not, then you’ll probably find yourself slipping into daydreams. This could indicate the birth of a child or a renewal of the child-like spirit with you.

On Thursday, Pluto will begin its decadeslong transit through a part of the sky that will bring transformation to how you think and communicate. This is a time when you will be on the run for new information. You may take this time to learn a new skill and won’t be interested in taking anything at face value. Intense experiences involving siblings, classmates, neighbors and short-distance surface now and can hold significant lessons now.

You are being inspired to pursue passion and take creative risks. Surface-level conversations just won’t do. For you, this quest of searching for knowledge is innate to your inner being, but you may find it a little more difficult to find the right words to express yourself at this time, and communication with others could suffer as a result. Use this time to restructure how you express yourself.

Capricorn
Dec. 22–Jan. 19

This week begins with the new moon and Mercury pulling you toward fourth-house matters of inner security and domestic affairs, dear Capricorn. You may feel a bit more like a homebody over the next two weeks, as your mind will be on creating a sanctuary, both internally and externally. This could indicate a move, or you may see something change within your home, such as a change with whom you share your space. Beneficial time to create or improve self-care habits.

On Thursday, Pluto will begin its decadeslong transit in a part of the sky that for you will transform aspects of life dealing with self-esteem, values and money. Your perspective around personal possessions will evolve during this time, and you may realize unhealthy attachments you have to material items and need to let go. A fear of poverty may drive you to try to hold on too tightly to possessions and money.

You could discover talents at this time and find a way to monetize them. Your idea of self is evolving and you could struggle with control issues of ownership. But this is because you are learning to value yourself and what you possess in a new way, cutting away anything you deem cheap or unworthy.

Aquarius
Jan. 20–Feb. 18

This week begins with the new moon and Mercury activating third-house matters of communication, learning and short-distance travel, dear Aquarius. You may find yourself overanalyzing your thoughts and realize a need to clear out any cyclical thinking that’s draining your energy. It’s an opportune time to embark on learning something new or dive into an intellectually stimulating project. You’ll find it easier to verbally express yourself, so use this time to share what you need to say.

On Thursday, Pluto will begin its decadeslong transit through your sign, bringing major transformation to your identity. This is not to be taken lightly. Because Pluto moves so slowly around the sun, many people will never experience Pluto transiting their first house of self. Who you know yourself to be now will be drastically different than who you will be at the end of this transit. Your appearance will likely be altered.

Anything that has been holding you back from your true authenticity will be stripped away during this extra-long transit, and you may radiate a particular intensity. This is a time you must try to let go as much as possible, as you may try to cling to superficial things amid so much profound change. You will have to face the darker elements of your psyche in order to tap into your deepest motivations, and power struggles may erupt as a result. Try not to turn yourself into the enemy as the new you emerges. Surrender and trust.

Pisces
Feb. 19 – March 20

The week begins with a new moon and Mercury activating your second house matters of self-esteem, possessions and money. This is a time to make changes related to how you value yourself. If you’ve been putting yourself on the back burner, now is the time to make yourself a priority. This also is a good time to create new habits around spending, as well as clearing out any possessions clogging up your space.

On Thursday, Pluto will begin its decadeslong transit in a part of the sky that for you will transform aspects of life that deal with dreams and the subconscious. This is a deep place for Pluto and will be shining light on what’s been hidden in order for you to heal it. Pisces are known to partake in escapism, but this simply won’t do during this time. You will have to confront what you’ve been supressing and also consider what secrets really are worth keeping and which ones are negatively impacting your well-being.

Take note of dreams, as they likely will be very intense. Imagery that appears when meditating or walking may carry important messages necessary for your growth. Because the 12th house is the final house of the Zodiac, this is about endings and the way loss serves as one of the most powerful teachers. You may need extra rest throughout this transit.
