Lisa Genova, author of Still Alice, will share her latest novel, Every Note Played, about a concert pianist whose right arm becomes paralyzed after he's diagnosed with ALS.

37. Magic the Gathering Grand Prix Seattle
Magic the Gathering players will gather to compete for impressive prizes at this event celebrating the 25th birthday of the popular trading card game. The Grand Prix will mostly appeal to MTG players, for whom the main events will be standard (SatâSun) and legacy (FriâSat) tournaments, in addition to dozens of side events, ranging from Modern to Commander, and from Sealed Two-Headed Giant to opportunities to challenge professional players. But it's open to anyone, and will also feature exhibitions featuring MTG card art, cosplayers, and vendors selling merch.

I like my tribute groups ambitious, damn it. Tackling the big-band funk and celestial soul of Earth, Wind & Fire involves serious arranging, playing, dancing, and falsetto-singing skills. The nine-member-strong local ensemble Kalimba, the Spirit of Earth, Wind & Fire definitely have EW&Fâs many hits down to a science, but what I really want to know is this: Do they play the amazing early stuff that didnât tear up the radio, like âBad Tune,â âEnergy,â âDrum Song,â âZanzibar,â or anything off the Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song soundtrack? I'm not finding anything online to suggest they are. Those were the real kalimba-tastic works, you know. DAVE SEGAL

This group concert will combine music, stop-motion animation, storytelling, visual art, and theatrical performances around the theme of âbreaking." The International Solidarity Mission will report back from the Philippines, where President Duterte's so-called drug war has resulted in the extrajudicial killings of as many as 14,000 Filipinos. Pam Tau Lee, chair of the International Coalition for Human Rights in the Philippines-US, and Jill Mangaliman of the Filipino women's rights organization GABRIELA Seattle will give talks.

COMEDY50. Duane Goad
Stand-up comic Duane Goad has performed at Funny or Die's Oddball Comedy Festival, the Las Vegas Comedy Festival, Bumbershoot, and the Vancouver Comedy Festival. He was also a finalist in the Seattle International Comedy Competition. He'll try and make you laugh in two sets of live back-to-back sets.
51. Watergate: A Comedy Show
This sketch comedy show will take the 1972 break-in at the Democratic National Committee headquarters' Watergate office and make it funny.
52. She is Fierce: Criminal
This storytelling event will feature people who identify as women sharing personal stories through performance, dance, theater, music, and/or visual art. Among others, the lineup features talented performers like Maggie McMuffin, Grace Penzell, Jasmine Joshua, and Bakima Ssebanakita, plus special guests comedian Alyssa Yeoman and oddball Tootsie Spangles.

57. Race to the Moon by Forest of Bloom
