BandSmash

The annual BandSmash concert fundraiser will be at 3-7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at Chapungu Sculpture Park amphitheater, on the corner of Centerra Parkway and Kendall Parkway just east of Macy’s at The Promenade Shops at Centerra.

This year’s lineup features: It’s a Trap, Ben Marshal, Cable Ten and Ryan Chris & The Rough Cuts. Each will play a set covering a well-known musical act. The winning band, as voted upon by the audience will then play the night’s final set.

Tickets are $50, which includes food and drinks.

Funds raised will help the Loveland Mountain View Rotary Club and its philanthropic efforts including providing scholarships for students in the Thompson School District and building gardens for Loveland-area schools.

Attendees can also participate in a drawing for a chance to win a pair of tickets to see Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band Oct. 13 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver.

Loveland Choral Society

The Loveland Choral Society will present “How Can We Keep from Singing” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, and at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, at the Rialto Theater Center, 228 E. Fourth St.

The group is fresh off a tour of Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic, and will present an a cappella concert of sacred classics by Bach, Mozart, Bruckner, Dvorak and other composers, as well as spirituals, hymns and folk tunes, along with a backdrop of images captured while on tour.

Fall Holistic Fair

The annual Fall Holistic Fair will be 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 17-18, at First National Bank Exhibition Hall at The Ranch, 5280 Arena Circle.

The event will explore alternative choices for taking care of the body, mind, spirit and environment. It will include astrology, palmistry, aura portraits, clairvoyant, tarot and past life readings, as well as vendors and artisans, door prizes and free lectures every hour.

Admission is $6 a day or $9 for the weekend. Children under 10 are free. Bring a nonperishable food donation for the Food Bank of Larimer County and receive $1 discount. Parking is free.

Oh Heck Yeah

Oh Heck Yeah, a free immersive street arcade for all ages, will be offered at 5:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 16, at the Loveland Public Library, 300 N. Adams Ave.

Admission is free for the evening of outdoor gaming, live music, food, local beer and mead. ^

Pioneer Heritage Gala

The Berthoud Historical Society will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the McCarty-Fickel house at the Pioneer Heritage Gala at 5:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at the museum, 645 Seventh St.

The house, which now serves as the McCarty-Fickel Home Museum, was built in 1916 as a dream home for Dr. D.W. McCarty.

The event will include live music in the garden, dinner, and silent and live auctions.

Top Cats & Tails

The Larimer Humane Society will host the 18th annual Top Cat & Tails Gala, “Cirque du Chat” at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at Embassy Suites Loveland, 4705 Clydesdale Parkway.

The gala will feature entertainment by roaming acrobats from Lime Light Fitness and High Performance Dance Theatre. There will be dinner, live entertainment and a pet parade of animals available for adoption, followed by live and silent auctions.

Tickets are $115 per person, $215 per couple or $770 for a Top Dog table for eight. Proceeds will help the Larimer Humane Society care for homeless pets.

Hops & Hot Rods

Anheuser-Busch will host Hops & Hot Rods at 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Anheuser-Busch Biergarten, 2351 Busch Drive.

The event will include $1 hot dogs, cold beer, brewery tours and a car show featuring classics, moderns, imports, exotics, trucks, 4x4s, and motorcycles.

FORToberfest

Fort Collins’ FORToberfest takes place at 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, in Old Town Square in downtown Fort Collins.

It is a celebration of the city’s music scene and beer brewing.

Musical acts include The Seers, Matt Mahern’s Constitution, Wasteland Hop, The 14ers, Mama Lenny & The Remedy, Taylor Scott Band and The Burroughs.

The Blend Chorus

The Blend Chorus will offer a series of free voice lessons designed to give inexperienced singers a solid foundation in the fundamentals of good singing.

Classes will start at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, at the Community of Christ Church, 220 Oak St.

Each week will cover a different aspect of the singing process and give singers concrete tools to help become more proficient.

Fritzler Corn Maze

Fritzler Corn Maze, 20861 County Road 33, will open for the season Saturday, Sept. 17. The corn maze will celebrate the Broncos.

Fritzler has a few other attractions: AlCorntraz which is zombie paintball; The Vertiscope, which offers a the feeling of moving while standing still; and the jumping pillow, hay climb, Spider Web and Slide Mountain.

The attractions will run 5-10 p.m. Fridays, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturdays and noon-5 p.m. Sundays in September.

It will add Wednesdays and Thursdays at 6-9 p.m. starting Oct. 12. The season ends Oct. 31.

Fine Arts and Crafts

A annual Fine Arts and Fine Crafts Show will be 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17-18, in Bond Park at the intersection of Elkhorn Avenue and MacGregor Avenue.

About 100 artisans will have work on display in this juried show, which includes jewelry, metal sculpture, paintings, wood sculpture, textile arts and more.

Wild Encounters

Kurtis Kelly will lead a program on area pioneers experiences with wildlife, from raising orphaned grizzly bear cubs, to tracking the eerie howl of a Longs Peak coyote, to the quest for “wapiti” at 3-4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at the Estes Park Museum, 200 Fourth St.
