The Irvine Co. opened the doors Thursday at Kinetic, a health-care, fitness and wellness center across from Fashion Island in Newport Beach.

The concept offers nutrition, lifestyle, weight management and personal training services by experts who collaborate on a personalized approach for each customer, the Irvine Co. said.

The 17,000-square-foot flagship location at 600 Newport Center Drive is divided into three areas: a St. Joseph Hoag Health Wellness Corner open to the public; an upscale fitness center exclusively for Irvine Co. office customers in Newport Center; and The Zone, a public fitness training studio operated by Active Wellness LLC.

“Today’s professional blends life and work more than ever,” Lauren Kelly, senior vice president of Irvine Co. Office Properties, said in a statement. “Kinetic seeks to revolutionize our customers’ ability to deliver a healthier workplace.”

Kinetic builds on an Irvine Co. and St. Joseph Hoag Health Wellness Corner launched in late 2014 at The Village apartment community in Irvine to provide medical and wellness services to residents. The partnership expanded in January 2015 to the Jamboree Center office complex in Irvine, serving employees at nearly 200 businesses.

The Irvine Co. said it plans to expand Kinetic elsewhere in Orange County and in San Diego, West Los Angeles and the Silicon Valley, working with local health and wellness providers in each market.
